Have You Outgrown Your Wardrobe or a Version of Yourself?

Have you ever stood in front of a wardrobe full of clothes and thought:

"None of this feels like me anymore."

Most of us assume that's a style problem.

But what if it's actually an identity conversation?

This week, I sat down with May Flaming for a conversation that went far beyond fashion.

Together, we explored the connection between style, confidence, self-expression, and intentional living.

One of the things that struck me most was how often women lose touch with themselves during life's transitions.

Motherhood.

Career changes.

Menopause.

Relationships.

Moving house.

Starting over.

Life changes us.

Yet many of us continue holding onto clothes—and sometimes entire identities—that belonged to a previous version of ourselves.

We keep dressing for who we were.

Or who we think we should be.

Rather than who we are today.

Style as Self-Discovery

At Project Emerald Collective, we often talk about taking your power back.

This conversation reminded me that sometimes that journey starts in unexpected places.

Like your wardrobe.

Not because clothes matter more than anything else.

But because they can reveal how connected—or disconnected—we feel from ourselves.

When we dress intentionally, we're making a statement.

Not to the world.

To ourselves.

We're saying:

"I see who I am becoming."

"I'm allowed to evolve."

"I don't need to stay the same."

A Question For You

What if the clothes hanging in your wardrobe are telling a story about a version of you that no longer exists?

And what would happen if you gave yourself permission to let her go?

Not because she wasn't important.

But because you've grown.

This Week's Challenge

Take five minutes this week and look through your wardrobe.

Ask yourself:

Does this reflect who I am today?

Not who you were five years ago.

Not who someone else expects you to be.

You.

Right now.

You might be surprised by what you discover.

Rediscovering Yourself Through Style | May Flaming

In this conversation we explore:

  • The connection between style and identity

  • Why life transitions often trigger wardrobe changes

  • The importance of dressing intentionally

  • Authenticity over trends

  • Confidence, self-expression and personal growth

  • Letting go of outdated expectations

  • Reconnecting with who you are today

Because taking your power back isn't about becoming someone new.

It's about remembering who you are.
