Product Description Guidelines

At Project Emerald, we believe that clear, accurate product descriptions are essential to building trust, reducing disputes, and helping buyers make confident purchase decisions.

Your product description is your opportunity to showcase the value of your item and set accurate expectations. Misleading or incomplete descriptions can result in returns, refunds, or disputes  so it’s in your best interest to get it right the first time.

1. Accuracy is Key

  • Describe what you’re selling honestly and completely — include brand, size, colour, style, and material.

  • Conditions must be clear: use terms like New with tags, Like new, Gently used, or Pre-loved with signs of wear.

  • Disclose all flaws or imperfections (e.g., stains, loose stitching, fading) and include them in your photos.

  • If an item is vintage, handmade, or altered, clearly state that in the description.

2. Structure & Clarity

  • Start with a clear title that includes brand + item type + key feature(s) (e.g., “Zimmermann Floral Silk Midi Dress – Size 8”).

  • Use short sentences or bullet points for easy reading.

  • Avoid unnecessary filler words — focus on the facts that matter to the buyer.

3. Essential Details to Include

Every listing should include:

  • Brand/Designer

  • Item Type & Style (e.g., dress, jacket, sneakers)

  • Size & Fit Information (include measurements if possible)

  • Material/Fabric

  • Colour (be specific, e.g., “Dusty Rose” instead of just “Pink”)

  • Condition (as per condition scale)

  • Care Instructions (if available on the tag)

  • Notable Features (buttons, embellishments, special cuts)

  • Flaws/Damage (even minor ones)

4. Tone & Language

  • Be professional but approachable — think clear and friendly.

  • Avoid all-caps, excessive punctuation, or slang that could be misunderstood.

  • Do not use discriminatory, offensive, or unrelated language.

5. Compliance with Policies

  • No misleading claims — all statements must be truthful and supported by the item itself.

  • Do not copy or use trademarked text or descriptions without permission from the brand.

  • All product descriptions must comply with Project Emerald’s Terms & Conditions, Return Policy, and Dispute Resolution Policy.

Title: “Bassike Organic Cotton Oversized T-Shirt – Size M – Charcoal Grey”

Description:
 Soft and breathable oversized tee from Bassike, made with 100% organic cotton.

  • Size: Medium (fits oversized – chest 58cm, length 74cm)

  • Colour: Charcoal Grey

  • Condition: Gently used – minimal fading from wash, no stains or holes

  • Material: 100% Organic Cotton

  • Care: Machine wash cold, dry flat
    Perfect for casual wear or layering in cooler months.
