Reclaiming Our Soul Sovereignty: A Conversation with Milca Perez

This week’s conversation stayed with me long after we finished recording. I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Milca Perez—sustainability educator, ecopreneur, and the founder of Malva and Luna Earth Magic—on the Project Emerald Collective podcast. Together, we explored what it truly means to live intentionally, our deep connection to nature, and the gentle, revolutionary power of what she calls the Divine Feminine.

Whether or not that phrase resonates with you, the message beneath it is one I think we all need to hear.

We don't need to become someone new. We need to remember who we already are.

The Call to Return Home

Somewhere along the way, many of us stopped trusting ourselves. Especially women.

We became busier. More distracted. More connected to everyone else’s expectations than our own inner wisdom. Instead of looking inward, we learned to look outward—searching for validation, success, certainty, and answers in a fast-paced, linear world.

One sentence from our conversation captured the antidote to this modern exhaustion perfectly:

"The Divine Feminine is an invitation to return to our soul sovereignty."

To me, soul sovereignty simply means coming home to yourself. It is the act of trusting your instincts, creating quiet space to hear your own voice again, and making choices that align with your deepest values instead of running on autopilot.

Reconnecting Through Simple Rituals

Throughout our chat, Milca spoke beautifully about the power of slowing down and reconnecting with the earth. She reminded us that embodying this energy isn't about adding more tasks to an already overflowing schedule. Instead, it’s about simple, grounding rituals:

  • Journaling: Putting pen to paper to channel our transitions, reflect on our growth, and quiet the mind.

  • Tending to Nature: Growing herbs, bringing flowers into our spaces, or walking barefoot on the earth to remind us of the beauty and resilience around us.

  • Creating Intentional Spaces: Setting up small, meaningful altars or quiet corners with objects that ground us—a candle, a favorite stone, or a treasured keepsake.

These practices aren't about perfection or productivity. They are simply ways to help us remember.

And perhaps that is what intentional living has always been about. Not a flawless destination, but the quiet, daily act of remembering our power.

Over to You

This week, I’d love to leave you with one simple question to carry with you:

What helps you reconnect with yourself?

Whether it’s stepping outside into the fresh air, lighting a candle, or pausing for a deep breath, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

If you’d like to dive deeper into our full, hour-long chat—where Milca shares her incredible journey from Chile to Tasmania, lessons on matriarchal leadership in nature, and how we can raise the next generation with balanced, nurturing energy—you can listen to the full episode below.
